All in a Days Work

As you can see, we are not wearing our fire gear. On this day we had lots of rain. Our Chief conducted a swiftwater training drill . We checked out some areas in our sector that could be potential problem areas for us.
We tracked the water flow in this area to estimate time of travel if someone were to fall into the wash, and how long it would take to travel to the next crossing.

This water flow area is covered with fencing to protect people from getting into the wash. A padlock is on the bridge portion over the wash, that we cut to gain access to the water to be able to grasp a person floating down stream. Fires, emergency medical calls, traffic accidents or water related problems ... we prepare for it all!
